Jessie James Ellis, age 74 of Andrews, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Charles George V.A. Medical Center in Asheville, NC.
Jessie was a native of Graham County, NC. He was a son of the late Johnny and Ruby Ross Ellis. Jessie was an US Army veteran during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tula Ledwell Ellis and a sister, Virginia Knighton.
Surviving are his brother, Jack Ellis of Andrews; sister, Winnia Fay Ellis of Andrews and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 6 PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Rev. Eddie Hardin will officiate. Military rites will be conducted by the Andrews VFW Post 7620.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
