Obituary for Pollie Sue Patterson

12/25/1947 - 11/07/2016

Pollie Sue Patterson would like to let everyone know that her work here is done. She received a call, after 68 years, a sort of an offer you can't refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, gardening and reading to her heart's content. Loving animals, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. She left detailed instructions for Bob and kids to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Low adherence to this instruction will not be tolerated.

We want to let her know that she did great job and wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, family and friends, for all the people she met. Many of whom over time also became friends. Her compassion for all kids and people, whom she invited into her home, is a testament to her life. Her love of animals and her beloved pet Pluto shows here spirit for all living things. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many. She was the one that always put other people first and went last. Her love for her kids and her grandkids were inmmense. Anyone that knew her, knew she loved to show pictures and talk about them to everyone. Pollie was one that would give her brother the last thing she had, would not cheat him or anyone. To Pollie, it wasn't worth it. That was the type of kindred soul and spirit she had.

Pollie is preceded in death by her mother, Dora Dewessee and a granddaughter, Natasha Taylor.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert (Bob) Patterson, Jr.; two loving sons and wives, Joel and Kathy Patterson, Robert and Kelli Patterson all of Hayesville, NC; two beautiful daughters and husbands, Ginger and Keith Many of Shelby, NC and Lisa and Keith VomLinsowe of Auburn, GA; one brother, Robert Dewesee and wife Kay of Bessemer City, NC.
