Agnes Louise Guffie Moss, age 91, of Hayesville, NC, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
She was born in Macon County, NC but had resided in Hayesville all her life. Agnes was the daughter of the late Jessie and Evie Ramey Guffie. She was a homemaker. Agnes enjoyed crocheting, quilt making and spending time with her grandchildren. She was devoted for caring for her very special son Ricky Moss for 42 years. Agnes was a member of Saved by Grace Full Gospel Church. But above all she was a loving mother to all her children and their families.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Vickey Moss Mobley; sons, Ricky and Jimmy Moss; brothers, Robert Guffie, Jr. and Furman Guffie; sisters, Blanche Guffie and Dorothy Guffie.
She is survived by her husband of 73 years, Leon Moss; sons, Alvin Moss and wife Hazel, Jerry Moss and wife Betty, Dwight E. Moss and fiance Theresa and Bobby Joe Moss and wife Revonda all of Hayesville; brothers, Kenneth Guffie and wife Ruth Ann, JL Guffie and wife Joyce and Rondle Guffie and wife Jean; sister, Bennie Lee Payne and husband Leland; three grandchildren Crystal Moss Rogers and husband Michael, Scottie Moss and wife Selena and Tangela Moss and fiance Casey; six great-grandchildren Kristen Moss, Addison, Autumn and Bradley Rogers, Cameron, Kayla and Austin Moss and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Shannon Burrell and Rev. Willie Screws will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scottie Moss, Kenneth Hall, Steve Cothern, Ronnie Hogsed, Terry Davenport, Michael Rogers, Cameron Moss and Clark Moss.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 50 Marvin Cabe Lane, Hayesville, NC 28904.
