Robert "Butch" Staton, age 71 of Hayesville, NC passed away Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, NC.
He was born in Buncombe County, NC to the late Leon Raphael and Nancy Terrell Staton. Butch lived here all his life. He was self-employed. Butch enjoyed TV sports and being outdoors. He was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his brothers, Sheldon Staton and wife Pam of Hayesville, Terry Staton and wife Annette of Woodstock, GA and Kerry Staton and wife Leanna of Hayesville; one sister, Pat Ledford and husband Walt of Hayesville; and several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Rev. Kirk Hatherly will officiate.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, PO Box 85, Hayesville, NC 28904.
