Jean Bennett, age 81 of Murphy, NC passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Murphy Medical Center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Carl and Mae Coleman Powell. Jean was a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Fort Hembree Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one grandson, Matt Neil.
She is survived by her son, Dwight Bennett; granddaughters, Sherissa Hughes and Krista Honebuckle and two great-grandchildren, Jaden Hughes and Isabella Hughes.
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM, Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Fort Hembree Baptist Church in Hayesville. Rev. Javan Harper will officiate.
