Marvie Hicks Gibby age 93 of Cleveland, GA passed away Friday, February 3, 2017.
Marvie was a native of Cherokee County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Dewey and Lavada Beavers Hicks. She was of the Church of God faith and had worked as a seamstress for Owenby's.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Gibby; infant sons, Richard and Billy Gibby; daughters, Betty King and Marie Guffey; grandsons, Robert King and Marvin McCoy; granddaughters, Carlene Derreberry, Darlene Falls, Sondra Blevins and Millissa Southers; brother, Walt Hicks and sister, Aline Gibby.
Surviving are her daughters, Winnie Chapell, Annie Randall, Mary McCoy, Clara Defor and Hazel Stoud; 23 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, February 6, 2017 at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Rev. Bill Dyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Valleytown Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12 PM to 2 PM, Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Townson Rose Chapel in Andrews.
