John "Dick" Richard Jones, age 77 of Andrews, NC passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Clay County Care Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Wade "Jack" and Mary Ruth Barker Jones. John was a US Army veteran. He retired as a truck driver in 2004 and really enjoyed his retirement. John was of the Presbyterian faith. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Jones, Ray Jones and Carroll Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carlene Lucille Hardin Jones; sons, Scott Jones, Travis Jones and Trevor Jones all of Andrews, NC; brothers, Donald Jones of Marble, NC and Gary Jones of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Darian Hunter Jones and McKena Cheyanne Jones both of Murphy, NC and Alexis Leanna Jones of the home; and many many nieces and nephews.
