Our loving mom, Martha Iona Moss Frye, left us to be with the Lord and her loved ones on February 20, 2017. She had celebrated her 85th birthday this past November 2016.
She was the daughter of late Tyrus and Bessie Hunter Garrett. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by husband Harold Moss who passed in 1974 and husband Morris Frye in 2001. She is also preceded in death by her infant son Joseph Moss, daughter Patricia Moss Rollins, son Tony Moss, grandchildren Amber, Joshua and John Lee Moss; and three brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are daughters Joyce & husband Steve Rowland of Hayesville, Jacki & husband Steve Fralish of Bradenton, Florida; sons Ricky & wife Martha Moss of Hiawassee, GA; Tommy & wife Theresa Moss , Scotty & wife Carolyn Moss, Dennis & wife Naona Moss all of Hayesville, NC, brother, T.W. Garrett of Norfolk, VA; and many nieces and nephews. Martha has 12 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Martha dearly loved her children and family and loved spending time with them. She had many jobs but her favorite was taking care of her family. Later in life she enjoyed traveling to Florida with her husband and living there for a few years. Her friend's family and loved ones will dearly miss her.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Brandon Matheson will officiate. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Curtis Stephens, Derrick Rollins, Neal Moss and sons, Dennis, Scotty and Ricky Moss. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Rowland, Tommy, Daulton and Jacob Moss.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Alwayne Brown, 6109 Town Creek School Road, Blairsville, GA 30512.
