John F. Martus, age 79, of Hayesville, NC passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Clay County Care Center.
He was a native of Oakland County, MI and the son of the late John and Frances Elizabeth Nelsen Martus. John was the owner and operator of a garbage disposal business. He enjoyed meeting and visiting with his customers for over 30 years. John was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed playing his guitar and gardening. John loved raising Appaloosas horses.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda Voynar Martus; three sons, John Joseph Martus of Orlando, FL,Thomas Martus of Hayesville, NC and Douglas Martus and wife Kelly of Howell, MI; two brothers, Mike Martus and wife Terri and David Martus and wife Alice; sisters, Mary Ann Martus and Fran Martus; and three grandchildren Michael, Amanda and Sage.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
