Kenny "Strawberry" Matheson, age 52 of Murphy, NC passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Towns County, GA to the late Jimmy and Joann Kephart Matheson. Kenny loved spending time with his friends and family. He also liked to grill.
He is survived by his three sons: Caine Matheson and wife Maggie, Zachery Matheson and Josh Matheson and wife Lindsey; one sister, Terri Keating; two nephews, Joseph Helton and Lakota Keating; two grandsons, Ramsey Floyd Matheson and Lane Issac Matheson; uncle, Darby Kephart and wife Anna; great uncles, Bobby Joe, Kermit, Jack and Godfery Graves.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Steve West will officiate. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be David Keating, Brandon Cordin, Reggie Cox, Roger Farmer, Wes Vercrouse and Joseph Helton. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Killian, LC Killian, Carl Dockery, Terry Killian, Carlos Palmer and Bob Killian.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Monday, May 29, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Chapel in Murphy.
