Bobby Joe Radford age 77, of Murphy, passed away Monday June 5, 2017 at his residence.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Ray and Mattie Brannon Radford. He was a construction worker, enjoyed farming and fishing. Bobby loved his family and being around people. He attended Old Fashion Baptist Church and Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Faye Canipe Radford; brothers, J.C. Radford, Oliver Radford and Stanley Radford; and sisters, Kathryn Graham and Lucille Horton.
He is survived by his son, Jesse Luke Radford and wife April of Murphy, NC; daughters, Peggy Jo Patterson and husband Darryl of Hayesville, NC, Glenda Clayton and husband Keith of Murphy, NC, Lisa Hughes and husband Isaac of Murphy, NC and Barbie Radford of Brasstown, NC; one brother, Harley Radford of Madisonville, TN; grandchildren, Wesley Whitener, Tyler Whitener, Caleb Hughes, Raven Caldwell, Laura Luther, Elesha Rider, McKayla Rider and Joshua Rider; great grandchildren, Logan Caldwell, Hadley Rider, Maverick Rider and Lilly Whitener; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Charlie Rider.
Funeral Services will be held at 6:30 PM, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Hoyt Brown and Rev. Billy Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4:30-6:30 PM, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
