Obituary for Vergal James Dye

   Vergal James Dye, age 88 of Brasstown, NC passed away Saturday July 1, 2017 at his residence. Vergal was the son of Sam and Lille Barnes Dye. He was a truck driver for the Pallet Industry. Vergal enjoyed hunting, gardening, collecting knives, playing guitar, farming, gospel music and his family. He was also a member at Pinelog Baptist Church.

   In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a special granddaughter, Torey Conley; sons, Douglas and Carlos Dye; daughter, Carolyn Chambers; brothers, Burl, Verlin and Vaughn Dye and sisters, Norma and Gertrude Dye, Mercie Owenby and Othena Dockery.

  He is survived by his wife, Mary Dye; stepson, Greg Barton; daughter, Connie Hughes; stepdaughter, Tamara Conley and husband Steve; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

   Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Monday July 3, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown and Rev. Hoyt Brown will officiate. Graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Kevin Miller. Pallbearers will be Josh Gibson, Rondal Lovingood, Jason Dye, Michael Langefield, Eugene "Blue" Hughes and David Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Payne, Max Reece, Jerry Hunsucker, Rodney Dye and Bobby Hughes. Burial will be in Pinelog Baptist Church Cemetery.

   The family will receive friends from 12-2pm, Monday July 3, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
