Lloyd William Kilpatrick, age 84 of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at the Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC. Lloyd was the son of the late William R. and Gertie Helton Kilpatrick. Lloyd was a farmer. He loved farming and raising cattle. Lloyd was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Kilpatrick and one son, Bobby Kilpatrick.
He is survived by one son, Rev. Jerry Kilpatrick and wife Linda of Murphy; grandchildren, Bryan Kilpatrick and wife Pam and Julie Hayes and husband Tommy all of Murphy; great- grandchildren, Lucas Kilpatrick and wife Rachel, Matthew Kilpatrick, Isaac Hayes, Lucas Hayes and wife Samantha, Jordan Hayes and Elijah Hayes; great-great-grandchildren, Landon Hayes and Grant Hayes; brother-in-law, Hoyt Gaddis; nephews, Steven Gaddis, Gary Gaddis, Bobby Gaddis and Richard Gaddis and very special friend, Lois Taylor.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Murphy. Rev. Steve Ware and Pastor Ricky Lance will officiate. Music will be conducted by the Hayes Brothers. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lucas Kilpatrick, Matthew Kilpatrick, Lucas Hayes, Isaac Hayes, Jordan Hayes and Elijah Hayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Ware, Earl Ware and David Cook.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral in Murphy where the body will remain until being placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service hour..
