Reginald Delano Bryson, age 76, of Murphy, NC passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the Clay County Care Center.
He was born in Carter County, Tennessee but lived most of his life in Cherokee County. He was the son of the late Sibyl and Della Mae Hughes Bryson. Reggie had been a self-employed auto mechanic, on the maintenance staff for Cherokee County Schools, and retired from the NC Department of Transportation as an auto and diesel mechanic. He enjoyed auto racing, carpentry work and playing his guitar and banjo.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Bryson and brother, Zane Bryson.
He is survived by two sisters, Yvonne Dantzler of Kingsland, GA and Pam Goldstein of Charleston, NC. He is also survived by his children, Mike and Danny both of Murphy, NC and Reggie and wife Souha Khawam of Salem, VA; Kathy Sexton and husband Shawn of Cumming, GA and Susie Bryson of Sylva, NC; grandchildren, Jessica Handford and husband David, Deidra, Jared, John, Andrew, Gabriel and Rayya; great grandchildren, Emmalyn, Annabelle and Amelia.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Burial will be in the Whitmore Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Curtis, Dewayne Cole and Phil Evans.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM, Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
