Broadus Carringer, age 90 of Andrews, NC passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County and the son of the late Charlie and Onia Moore Carringer. Broadus worked in the furniture industry. He was a member of Old Fashioned Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, J.C. and Mary Jane Palmer; brothers, Pat, Jerry, Dallas and Ralph Carringer and sisters, Little Frances and Mary Grace Palmer.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Jan Carringer; three sisters, Faye Guffey and husband Gene of Murphy, Kathy Duckworth and husband R.L. of Augusta, GA and Cherline Greene of Murphy; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, July 21, 2017 at Old Fashioned Baptist Church in Murphy. Pastor Hoyt Brown, Rev. Patrick O'Dell and Rev. Nathan Rose will officiate. Burial will be in the New Martins Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Wilson, Luke Wilson, Bruce Little, James Weaver, Scott Wyke and Dr. James Vollmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Brook and David Ricks.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM, Friday, July 21, 2017 at the Old Fashioned Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Old Fashioned Baptist Church, 732 Floyd Stalcup Road, Murphy, NC 28906..
