Obituary for Kelsey Nicholson

     Kelsey Nicholson, age 81, of Hayesville, NC passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017 at his home.

     He was born in Towns County, GA to the late Pince and Rubye Moody Nicholson. He was owner and operator of Clay County TV, sales and repair store. Kelsey was a US Air Force veteran. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Young Harris, GA. Kelsey loved attending church and anything God related. He enjoyed the jail ministry and Gideon work. Kelsey loved spending time with his family and grand-kids.

      He is survived by his wife, Lois Hamilton Nicholson; sons, Nicky Nicholson and wife Sandy of Hiawassee, GA, Waylan Nicholson and wife Teresa of Fairplay, SC, Grant Nicholson and wife Karen of Hayesville, NC and Royce Nicholson and wife Tracy of Hiawassee, GA; daughter, Rachelle Leek and husband Paul of Hayesville, NC; sister, Arbena Moss and husband Jack of Hiawassee, GA; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

     Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, August 13, 2017 at the First Baptist Church in Young Harris, GA. Rev. Eddie Duckworth, Rev. Lawrence English and Rev. Jason Derreberry will officiate. Burial will be in the Bell Scene Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the V.F.W. Post #10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post #96 and D.A.V. Chapter #73 and American Legion Post #532 of Hayesville and V.F.W. Post #6812. Pallbearers will be Jefferson, Jacob, Elijah, Isaac, Hogan, Whitaker and Silas Nicholson, Kacey Henrikson and Michael Lovingood.

     The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville where the body will remain until placed in the church two hours prior to the service.

     In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Gideon's International, P.O. Box 164, Murphy, NC.
