Obituary for Dixie White Parker

Dixie White Parker, age 88, of Andrews, NC passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home.

She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Franklin Hardie and Luiza Elizabeth Taylor White. Dixie was a homemaker. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in her flower garden. She attended the Valley River Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Earl Dean (Muss) Parker; three brothers, Walter, Claude and Arlin White and three sisters, Madge Postell, Maggie Hardin and Doris Moore.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie Parker and wife Patty and Joe Parker and wife Adele all of Andrews, NC; three sisters, Lille Mae Goins, Emma Hogan and Iris Plemmons all of Andrews, NC; three grandchildren, Robbie, Doug and Ally Parker; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 4 pm, Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Valley River Baptist Church in Andrews, NC. Rev. Roy Phillips and Rev. Eddie Hardin will officiate. Burial will be in the Valleytown Cemetery. Music will be provided by the Valley River Quartet. Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:45 pm, Monday, October 2, 2017 at Valley River Baptist Church.
