Obituary for Ann Ruth McClure

Annie Ruth “Ann" (Greene) McClure, age 78 of Hayesville, NC and formerly of Marietta, GA passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.

Ann was born in Cherokee County, NC to the late Jesse and Celia (Barrett) Greene. She was a cosmetologist and a homemaker. She loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, antique car shows and playing cards with friends. Ann enjoyed working at the Old Cupboard Antique's.

She also loved to sing and play the piano. She enjoyed music and some of her favorite musicians were: Jim Brickman, Karen Carpenter and Elvis. She enjoyed her retirement in the mountains.

In addition to her parents: she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Howard McClure, her brother Kenneth Greene and her grandson Brandon Abbas Khani.

Ann is survived by her brother, William O. "Happy" (Carol Ann) Greene of Ball Ground, GA, her niece, Lee Ann Greene Busby of Ball Ground, GA and her nephew, Charles McClure of Young Harris, GA. Survivors include: her son, Danny (Terri) McClure of Dallas, GA, her daughters, Linda McClure Cook of Smyrna, GA, Janice McClure Khani of Carrollton GA, Lisa (Frank) Edwards of Powder Springs, GA and Nancy (Dan) Rasmussen of Adamstown, MD. Her grandchildren include: Nichole (Brannon) Harris, Sarah (Jared) Worley, Alexander Khani, Jeremy Khani, Andy Rasmussen and Emily Rasmussen. Her great-grandchildren include: Dylan, Hannah, Connor and Logan Harris along with Samuel and Elizabeth Ann Worley.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2PM at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. Rev. Ricky Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Young Harris, GA.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22, 2017 from 12-2PM at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 871 N Weisgarber Rd, Knoxville, TN 37909.
