Martha Smith, age 82 of Hayesville, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at Murphy Rehab and Nursing.
Martha was born in Greenville, SC. She was a daughter of the late Zeb and Marie Johnson Mullinax. Martha was a member of the Women's Auxiliary American Legion and Downings Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace Smith.
She is survived by four sons, Joel Smith and wife Yula of Hayesville, Rex Smith and wife Ronda of Simpsonville, SC, Mike Smith and wife Lisa of Hayesville and David Smith and wife Amy of Hayesville; one brother, Milton F. Mullinax and wife Annie Grace of Travelers Rest, SC; one sister, Juanita Mullinax of Greenville, SC; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Jackie Sellers and Pastor Derek Tilley will officiate. Eulogies will be given by her son, Rex Smith and her sister, Juanita Mullinax. Music will be provided by Stephen Sellers. Burial will be in the Oak Forest United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ethan Smith, Brian Smith, Aaron Smith, Cory Scroggs, Kenny Whitfield, Joel Wallace Smith.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
