Myrtle D. Stiles, age 77, of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 at Murphy Medical Center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the daughter of the late Randle Lee and Pearlene Young Farmer. Myrtle was a homemaker. She loved her family and her dog Molly. She enjoyed her church, Southend Baptist and singing in the choir.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, J.L. Farmer and Grady Farmer; and one sister, Jacklene Hughes.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Harold Stiles; three sons, Randall Stiles and wife Terry, Bill Stiles and wife Janice and Steve Stiles of the home; three daughters, Patricia Golden and husband Warren, Becky Sams and husband Dan and Shiryl Nix and husband Jimmy; two sisters, Alene Laney and husband Buster and Shirley Kephart and husband Alvin; special friend and caregiver, Desiree Henson; 29 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. Rev. Steve Sneed and Pastor Harold Stiles will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tim Kephart, Michael Sams, James Tague, Gregory Klima, Randall Stiles Jr. and Forrest Stiles. Honorary pallbearers will be James and Danny Chastain.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM, Sunday, January 14, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.
