Richard Dale "Ricky" Twiggs, age 60 a native and lifelong resident of Murphy, NC passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 at Northside Hospital in Canton, GA. Ricky was the son of Mabel Stiles Cooke and the late Lloyd Burton “Jim” Twiggs. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his beloved stepfather, Leroy Cooke and sister, Jeania Cooke Allman.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Jean Crowe Twiggs, sons, Chris Twiggs and wife Erika, and Jeremy Twiggs; daughter Jennifer Twiggs; brother, Jim Twiggs and wife April; sisters, Lisa Twiggs and husband "Blue" Hughes, and Kim Twiggs; grandchildren, Maddelyn Helton, Marley Craig, Maeli Craig, Abram Twiggs, Elijah Twiggs, Jude Twiggs, and Isaiah Craig; Mother-in-law, Marie Arp Crowe; along with many nieces and nephews, loads of family, and TONS of friends.
He operated Ricky Twiggs Auto Repair for 20 years, before establishing West End Buildings in 2003, both in Murphy. He was a master mechanic building cars and race cars from the time he was 12 years old. He had dirt track racing in his blood, and tore up the streets drag racing and hot rodding. He absolutely loved spending time with his family and friends. Laughing, telling stories, and just enjoying life.
Ricky was a Man of God with Mountain Moving Faith. He was a walking miracle with a fiery passion for helping others know Jesus. In the last year Ricky especially cherished spending time in the Garden communing with the Lord.
What a kind, compassionate, and generous soul. A genuine man of integrity. Always there. We all relied on him. He helped EVERYONE, even strangers, without judgement. He had a way of making every single person truly feel special. His legacy on earth will forever continue through the generations.

Life Celebration will be held at 7pm, Friday March 2, 2018 at the Little Brasstown Baptist Church. Pastor Calvin Murphy and Pastor Zack Orton will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery at 12pm, Saturday March 3, 2018.
The family will receive friends Friday March 2, 2018 from 4-7pm at the Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Ricky to the Mt. Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund 1700 Old Murphy Road, Murphy, NC 28906 or Samaritan's Purse.
