Lawrence Moreland Davis, age 92, of Marble, NC passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the Valley View Care Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County, NC and the son of the late Jake and Julia Mintz Davis. He was a retired security guard for Baker Furniture. Lawrence was a US Army World War II veteran. He was a member of the Marble Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Kate Flynn Davis; one son, Donny Ray Davis; five brothers, Jack, Clarence, Everette, Charles and Claude Davis; and five sisters, Annie Lee Davis, Alice Barttlet, Mazie Hunt, Nell Singelton, Emily Sawyer and Inez Phillips.
He is survived by one son, Fred Davis; one sister, Mary Lou McKillip; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Due to family illness a memorial service will be held at a later date.
