Mark Allen, age 52 of Murphy, NC passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at his residence.
He was born in Polk County, TN to Manker Luther Allen, II and Joyce Ballew Allen of Murphy, NC. Mark was a US Air Force veteran; he served during the Gulf War. He was a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Adam Barnett.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Monica Dockery Allen; five sons, Joshua Allen, Jeremiah Allen and wife Mikala, Nathan Barnett, Kevin Barnett and Byron Barnett and wife Nicole; one sister, Anna Marie Guthrie and husband Lee; grandchildren, Travis and Samuel Allen, and Cooper, Austin, Hayden and Leah Barnett.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Calvin Murphy will officiate. Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites to be conducted by the VFW Post 10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post #96 and D.A.V. Chapter #73 and American Legion Post #532 of Hayesville and VFW post #6812. Pallbearers will be Nathon, Kevin, Cooper and Austin Barnett and Manker and Mason Guthrie.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 pm, Monday, May 14, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
