Francois Rudolph Tichler (Frank) was born April 30, 1934 in Hopewell, Virginia to Herman and Denise Tichler. He went to live with his Lord and Savior on May 11, 2018. He was very proud to be a first generation American.
As an infant he moved to Rome, Georgia where he later graduated from Darlington School. He went on to attend and graduate from Auburn University. He worked as an accountant for several companies and retired from Grady Hospital in 1999. Although he worked as an accountant, music was his passion. He was the church organist for several Catholic Churches throughout the years including St. Mary’s, Rome, Georgia, Sts. Peter and Paul, Decatur, Georgia, Christ Our Hope, Lithonia, Georgia, and part-time organist at St. William in Murphy, North Carolina.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Wallace Tichler, daughter Theresa Belflower (John) of McDonough, Georgia, sons Stephen (Marie) of Conyers, Georgia and Anthony (Stephanie) of Murphy, North Carolina, granddaughters Ashley Palombo of Loganville, Georgia and Madeline Scruggs (Adam) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and great-grandsons, Riley Palombo and Beau Scruggs.
A memorial service officiated by Deacon Carl Hubbell will be held on May 23, 2018 at 2:00 pm. at St. William Catholic Church in Murphy, North Carolina.
