Obituary for Rev. Rondle (Bo) Ford

Rev. Rondle (Bo) Ford, age 76, of Hayesville, NC passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA.

He was born in Cherokee County, NC but lived his entire life in Clay County, NC. Bo was the son of the late Vorrest Samuel and Mary Lee Franklin Ford. He was a US Army Vietnam veteran. Bo was a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute. He had been a pastor for local churches for over 35 years. Bo was past Chaplain for Post #6812 VFW and the Lions Club; he was also a member of the American Legion. He volunteered at Christian Love Ministry. Bo retired from Ingles in Hayesville as a customer service supervisor in 2003. He began working part-time for Townson-Rose Funeral Home, LLC. Bo pastored Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marble, NC and also was a member.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara Bishop Ford; one brother, Chester Ford; and one sister, Judith Ann Moore.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Rondal Brown and Rev. Johnny Foster will officiate. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites to be conducted by the VFW Post 10222, Joe Miller Elkin American Legion Post #96 and D.A.V. Chapter #73 and American Legion Post #532 of Hayesville and VFW post #6812. The Lions Club will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Jimmy Rogers, Walter Blanton, Dean Morris, Jimmy Rogers and Ed Ashe.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 or to The Mana Food Bank, 627 Swannanoe River Road, Asheville, NC 28805 or to the College of the Ozark, PO Box 17, Point Lookout, MO 65726.
