Geraldine Martha Griggs, age 73 of Andrews, NC passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Erlanger Murphy Medical Center.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Ernest and Beulah Griggs. Geraldine retired from Murphy Medical Center as a C.N.A. She loved the Lord, her children and grandchildren. Geraldine was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Griggs and four sisters, Linda Griggs, Melba Jordan, Mary Stanley and Shirley Griggs.
She is survived by one son, Larry Burris of Andrews; two daughters, Shirley Cunningham and husband Kyle and Kathy Chambers and husband Gary all of Andrews; sisters, Brenda Stiles and husband Harold, Gertrude Griggs of Marble and Gayle Day and husband Rick of Andrews; three grandchildren, Isaac Cunningham, Misty Reece and Ryan Cunningham; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Ava, Hayden Cunningham and Caitlyn Cantafio.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews. Rev. Jerry Tatham and Pastor Harold Stiles will officiate. Burial will be in the Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Levi White, Donald Ray Johnson, Jeff Tatham, Dane Rickett, Lennie Cutshaw, Zack Day, Stevie Pendergrass and Eric Laney.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
