Ruby Christine Crisp, age 90 of Brasstown, NC passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her residence.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, NC and the daughter of the late Thomas Elmer and Roxie Beulah Byers Sales. Christine had worked for John C. Campbell Folk School, Kilpatrick Store and retired from Levi Strauss and Company after 18 years. She was a member of the Little Brasstown Baptist Church for over 75 years where she taught Sunday school for 44 years. Christine enjoyed helping others. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Crisp; brother Burton Sales; and one sister, Jewell Rogers.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Ashe and husband Ed of Hayesville, NC; one sister, Sue Hedden of Brasstown, NC; grandchildren, Justin Ashe and wife Jaclyn of Hayesville and Josh Ashe and wife Alison of Hayesville; great grandchildren, Kolbe Ashe and Emma Ashe; and God granddaughter, Alex Lovingood Phillips and husband, Hunter; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4 pm, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Little Brasstown Baptist Church. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Music will be provided by Susie Graham. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Justin Ashe, Josh Ashe, Kolbe Ashe, Terry Hedden, Billy Rogers, Donnie Martin, Joe Gibby and Hunter Phillips.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Little Brasstown Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Home Health and Hospice Agency, 125 Medical Pak Lane Suite H, Murphy, NC 28906.
