Obituary for Ronnie Shook Clampitt

10/20/1954 - 09/09/2018

Ronnie S. Clampitt, born October 20, 1954 of Hayesville, NC went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2018.

She was born to Ketron and Mary Lou Corn Shook of Hiawassee, GA. She married the love of her life Jess V. Clampitt, Jr. on March 9, 1973 and this year celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Ronnie loved her family and school family very much. She was a kind soul always putting other's needs in front of her own; from the children she raised, to grandchildren she enjoyed, to the multitudes of children she took in each year as her own while working as a teacher's assistant and bus driver. Ronnie had an infectious smile that warmed the hearts of each one she encountered. She worked for Clay County Schools for 25 years and drove her bus for 31 years. She is now watching over her grandchildren, and all of those children who rode her bus #47 over the years.

She is survived by her husband, Jess V. Clampitt Jr; Jay Clampitt and wife Lynn of Hayesville, NC, Gary Clampitt of Wilmington, NC and Bradley Clampitt and wife Nakisha of Hayesville, NC; grandchildren, Jacob, Kaytie, Kyle, Hallie, Briley, Brody and Lillian.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Old Shooting Creek Cemetery in Hayesville, NC. Rev. Aud Brown will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kyle Clampitt, Jacob Clampitt, Justin Shook, Kerri Morgan, Joey Buckner and Johnathan Bethel. Honorary pallbearers will be Brody Clampitt and Jimmy Hayes.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm, Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Hayesville, NC.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in memory of Ronnie Clampitt to Hayesville Middle School, 135 School Drive, Hayesville, NC 28904, for the flower gardens where a memory plaque will be placed to remember our beloved Ronnie.
