Jewel Sneed Brooks, age 98 of Andrews, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Murphy Rehab and Nursing Home.
Jewel was a native of Cherokee County NC. She was a daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth Brown Sneed. Jewel was of the Baptist faith and had retired from Lee's.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Brooks; brothers, Rosco, John and Fred Sneed; sisters, Celia Kincaid, Ida Palmer, Goldie Lance and an infant sister.
Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth Jones and husband Bob of Andrews; sons, Harold Brooks and wife Becky of Murphy and Ronnie Brooks and wife Carma of Andrews; granddaughters, Ronda Ramie and Brandy Robles; great grandchildren, D.J. Martin and Brittany Luther; great great granddaughter, Addison Luther; several nieces, nephews and caregivers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Townson-Rose Chapel Andrews. Rev. John Bailey will officiate. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Danny Hedrick, Ed Green, David Lance, Jack Postell, Ronnie Adams and Anthony El-Khouri.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Townson-Rose Chapel Andrews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cherokee County Food Bank, 121 Main Street, Andrews, NC 28901.
