Ruth Franklin, age 75 of Hayesville, NC passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County, NC and the daughter of the late Ralph and Elveta Lance Brown. Ruth worked for Levi Strauss for 32 years, Family Dollar Store for 25 years and was a foster grandparent at Martins Creek School for five years. She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clay and Clifford Brown and infant sister, Helen Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Franklin; one son, Eddie Franklin and wife Janet; one daughter, Linda Franklin; two brothers, Rev. Aud Brown and wife Becky and Pastor Rondall Brown and wife Camille; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Rev. Aud Brown and Pastor Rondall Brown will officiate. Music will be provided by Drew Payne and Sarah. Graveside services will be conducted by Rev. Gerry Graves at the Sweetwater Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cain Franklin, Cody Owenby, Dylan Owenby, Keith Owenby, Tim Smith and Silas Brown.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm, Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sweetwater Baptist Church, C/O Brenda Anderson, 784 Bob Penland Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
