Jerrel E. Crisp, age 80 of Murphy, NC passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at a hospital in Milledgeville, GA. He was the son of the late James Riley Crisp and Hazel Forrister Crisp. He was a lifetime resident of Murphy where he as a member of Trout Cove Baptist Church. He was very active in church as a deacon, choir leader, and with gospel quartets. He also loved to coon hunt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Johnson Crisp; his daughter, Linda Dianne Brown; his brothers, James Harvey Crisp and Franklin Dewayne Crisp; his sister, Frances Millsaps; and his grand-daughter Deneise Gulledge.
He is survived by his daughter, Geneva Moody; his brothers, Claude Howell Crisp and Julious Richard Crisp; his sister Barbara Crisp; his grandchildren, Sherry Hill and husband Brian, and Doug Allen; his great-grandchildren, Tiffany Hill Jones, Brooke Hamilton, Daniel Allen, Dustin Gulledge, and Nicole Gulledge; three great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC. Rev. Hoyt Brown and Rev. Zack Orton will officiate. Burial will be at Mt Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 1:00 on Monday, February 22,2021 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy, NC.
