Ann K. Stephens, born January 19, 1963, passed on August 18, 2021 at the age of 58, after a brief battle with Covid-19. She is survived by her two daughters, Cora and Panne Burke, her siblings, Steve Knight, and Ellen Bidigare, and her husband, Michael Stephens. She is predeceased by her mother, Ann Knight, and her previous husband Kerry Burke.
Just as she was unconventional in the kitchen, Ann embraced life with her own set of rules. Ann delighted in the unusual, from raising ostriches, to exotic plants. She gained immense joy from animals and working with her plants. She was known to pass the time away reading, caring for her animals, and could often be found outside watering her garden. Ann was passionate about gardening, and her green thumb was without equal in this world. She could stick any plant in the dirt and it would grow like magic. She never met an animal that she couldn’t save. She raised two talented and successful children. Ann will be missed deeply by those who loved her.
Ann was also known for her stubbornness, which led to her untimely passing. No one should die from Covid 19. If she could make her choice all over again, she would choose to get vaccinated, and encourage others to do the same.
Ann’s memorial services are currently in the planning process. She will be cremated and the date and location of the ceremony will be announced at a later time.
