Jimmie Ray Wilson, 83, loving husband of Barbara Childs Wilson, passed away March 3, 2020 at Union General Hospital in Blairsville GA. His family resides in Murphy NC.
He was born February 2, 1937 in Niota TN, to Clarence and Margaret Wilson. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Bill, Avery, and Betty.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Childs Wilson; daughters Theresa (Scott) Wilson, Christine Wilson Hall and Kathy (Johnny) Wilson; grandchildren, Chelsea Hall, Zach Davis, Kaleb Horne; great-granddaughter Sadie; brother and sister in law's, numerous nieces and nephews; and all whom he loved dearly and completely!
He graduated from Anthony High School in Anthony KS. He joined the United States Air Force out of high school and proudly served our country for 25 years. He is a Vietnam veteran and was awarded numerous ribbons, medals, awards and stars throughout his service. He loved our Country!
A memorial service will be held at 7 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy military rites being conducted by the American Legion Post #96 Murphy, American Legion Post 532 Hayesville, VFW Post 6812, Hayesville, NC, the Marine Corp League Marble, NC, and the Vietnam Veterans of America..
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home.
