Charles "Bud" E. Ashe, 81, of Hayesville passed away Friday, June 7, 2024. He was a son of the late Bob and Edna Gregory Ashe, and was a lifetime resident of Clay County.
He enjoyed horse and mule back riding with friends on trail rides. Bud also enjoyed cattle farming. He retired after 39 years from American Thread, and was an active member of Truett Memorial Baptist Church in Hayesville.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by two brothers, Jimmy Ashe and Joe Ashe; a nephew, Bobby Ashe.
Surviving is his wife, Betty Cabe Ashe; brother, Ed Ashe (Brenda), sister-in law, Becky Cutshaw, several nieces and nephews; special great nieces, Julie and Emma Ashe, Hannah, Moriah and Sofia Miller; special great nephews, Jordan Ashe (LeeAnn), Joseph Miller (Joelee), Andrew Miller and special friend, Keith Holcomb.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Truett Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Arron McGuffee and Rev. Kevin Miller officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm - 3:00 pm at Truett Memorial Baptist Church prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Myers Chapel Cemetery Fund, 2907 Myers Chapel Road, Hayesville, NC 28904.
