Obituary for Ronald "Ron" Lee Nigels

Ronald "Ron" Lee Nigels, age 89 of Hayesville, NC passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

He was born in Palm Harbor, Florida to the late Fletcher and Amanda Dixon Nigels. Ron was a US Army veteran. He worked as a grader in the paving industry. Ron enjoyed working outside with his hands. He was always willing to help someone in need. Ron was an avid Florida Gator fan. He was a member of New Life Church in Hayesville.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Judith May Nigels; one son, Peter Castles (Rachel) of Virginia; one daughter, Rhonda "Sunshine" Rathey of Florida; two sisters, Doris Mann of Florida and Ida Rose Edwards of Hayesville; one grandson, Dusty Nigels (Tara) of Florida; and two great grandchildren, Zach and Aedan Nigels.

A celebration of life will be held at the New Life Church in Hayesville at a later date.

Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
