Obituary for Charles "Chuck" David Jenkins

Charles "Chuck" David Jenkins, age 70 of Murphy, NC passed away Friday, September 25, 2026.

He was born in Wayne County, Michigan to the late Charles Jenkins, Jr. and Mary Jane Carbone Jenkins. Chuck retired from Delta Air Lines in the Cargo division, handling both international and domestic cargo operations. He was an antique collector, especially collecting clocks international and domestic. This was a legacy that his father passed on to Chuck. He was humorous, kind-hearted, and always looking for ways to help others. Chuck was a musician, talented guitarist and riding motorcycles, especially Harleys. He was a family-oriented man who cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He especially loved the holidays and took immense joy in decorating and making the season special for everyone around him. His love for family, the holidays, and creating beautiful memories will always be remembered. Chuck loved his animals, especially his fur babies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elaine Dickey.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sharon Stickley Jenkins; one son, Eric Jenkins (Karen); two daughters, Heather Kay Parsons Sansom and Nora Lee Lents (Christopher); and three grandchildren, Lucas Michael, London Eve and Kyra Lee Sansom.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Monday, September 28, 2026 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Murphy. Rev. Patrick Garrett will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 4:30 pm to 6 pm, Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
