J.L. Guffey, age 86 of Hayesville, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
He was born in Macon County, NC to the late Jess and Evie Ramey Guffie. J.L. was a carpenter. He loved his family, fishing, hunting and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Mosteller Guffey; four brothers, Robert, Junior., Furman and Kenneth Guffey; three sisters, Agnes Moss, Blanche Guffey and Dorothy Guffey; and a great grandson, River Lewis.
He is survived by a daughter, Waynda Robinson (Jason); brother, Rondall Guffey (Jean); sister, Bennie Payne (Lee); grandchildren, Hannah Lewis (Parker) and Zachary Robinson; great grandchildren, Makenna Acosta and Rylan and Jake Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 pm, Monday, October 18, 2021 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Todd Chester will officiate. Music will be provided by Billy Garrett.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm-7 pm, Monday, October 18, 2021 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
