Elizabeth Wanda Abernathy Mashburn, 78, of Murphy passed away August 2, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Perry and Zora Estella Bruce Abernathy.
Elizabeth liked crocheting, canning, listening to Gospel music, having a strong faith in the Lord. She loved spending time with her family. She was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Mashburn; a son, Ronald Keith Beaver; brothers, Edwin Abernathy, Bruce Abernathy, and Jr. Abernathy; sisters, Effie Davis, Estella MaGaha, Irene Aberthany, Marie Davis, and Nell Graham.
Elizabeth is survived by sons, Jeffrey Scott Beaver (Audrey), Calvin Lee Beaver (Kat), Dennis Wayne Beaver, and Travis Gerald Beaver (Tiffany); brothers, Luther Abernathy, Henry Abernathy, and David Abernathy; a daughter-in-law, Mindy Beaver; 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Thursday, August 6, 2026 in the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel Murphy. Eddis Dockery will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tyler Lovingood, Noah Beaver, Dakota Beaver, Craig Conner, Aaron Beaver, and Justin Beaver. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Joe MaGaha, Robert Graham, and Jamie Dockery. Burial will be in Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens in Fannin County, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 12: 00 pm at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home prior to the services.
