We celebrate the life of Marilyn "Kay" Duff, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness, grace, and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.
Born on March 8, 1944, in Bethany, Oklahoma, Kay was raised in Claude, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Gerrie Wiegman; her brother, Rick Wiegman; and her sister, Jeanne Gibbs. Kay attended Bethany University, where she met and married Garry Snyder. As the wife of a military officer, she spent twenty years raising their family. Those years helped cultivate the grace, resilience, and compassion that became hallmarks of her life.
Kay spent many happy years in DeLand, Florida, with her second husband, William Duff, who preceded her in death. Together they built a life filled with love, lasting friendships, and fond memories in a community that always held a special place in her heart.
In her later years, Kay found love again with her beloved husband, William "Durrell" Kirkland. Together, they shared sixteen beautiful years between Ormond Beach, Florida, and Hayesville, North Carolina, filling their days with travel, golf, laughter, cherished friendships, and a deep love for one another.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving daughters, Jennifer Kulzer (Jeff) and Nicole Wichlei, along with her beloved grandchildren, Clayton and Avery Kulzer, and Grant and Ian Wichlei.
An avid golfer, Kay found great joy and lasting friendships through Oceanside OWGA, Old Union OUWGA, and Mountain Harbour MHWGA.
To know Kay was to feel welcome. Her warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched all who knew her. She opened her heart to others with grace and left a lasting legacy of love that will be remembered always.
