Obituary for Angela Dequeese Smith

Angela Dequesse Smith, age 52, born on June 15, 1974 of Andrews, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from illness at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. She was surrounded by family members and friends as she gained her wings.

Angela was the daughter of Thomas Edward (Tom) and Betty Sean Lewis Nicely Smith. She was employed at the BP station in Andrews for 25 years and was currently employed at Ingles in Murphy. Her life was her children and grandchildren. Angela loved to travel, cook, garden, communicating with people, joking around with everyone and she never met a stranger. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Andrews.

She is survived by her husband, Clay Wiggins; her sons, Jayceon Clay Wiggins and Kendric Smith (Deviana); her daughter, Celie Renee Smith; her brothers, Tyrone Smith (Charman) of Andrews and Brent Smith (Jennifer) of Oregon; a half-brother, Gabriel Lloyd; a stepbrother, Ryan Nicely; a half sister, Margaret Lloyd; a stepsister, Tina Nicely; and a grandchild, Aiden Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Turner Grant officiating. Burial will be in Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews. Pallbearers will be Paul Smith, Benny Smith, Keevon Allen, Jake Smith, Tyreen Allen and Yogi Allen. Honorary pallbearers are Browley Stillwell, Kevin Allen, Sammy Holloway, John Allen, Kevin Nicely and Larry Burris.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Sunday, July 12, 2026 prior to the funeral service.
