Obituary for Beverly Ann Bateman

Beverly Ann Bateman, age 83 of Andrews, NC passed away Saturday, July 17, 2026.

She was born in Macon County, NC to the late Ted and Daphne Grant Cochran. Beverly was a homemaker. She loved shopping, making jewelry and crafts. Beverly loved taking care of her family. She was a member of Valleytown Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Bateman and an infant sister, Bernice Cochran.

She is survived by her children, James Bateman (Cynthia) of Andrews, NC and Melissa Evans (Ray) of the Nantahala community; one brother, Jim Cochran (Norma) of Bryson City, NC; five grandchildren, Dakota, Derek and Donovan Bateman, Megan McLean and Amanda McCoy; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson on the way.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, July 20, 2026 at the Briartown Baptist Church. Rev. Bo Phillips and Pastor Eurial Turner will officiate. Music will be provided by Kim Allen. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dakota, Derek and Donovan Bateman, Adam McLean, Kevin Hawkins and Cole McCoy.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2026 at the Townson-Rose Chapel in Andrews.
