Margaret Ann Peters, age 88 of Hayesville, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 30, 2022.
She always set a good example for others and throughout all the stages of her life, she loved the Lord. She was a devout reader of the Bible. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking for her family and friends. Margaret enjoyed being outdoors and had a great love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Margaret was born in Warrenton, Virginia to the late Clyde Richard Compton and Clara Brown Compton.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gerald Peters; three grandchildren, George Baker, Laura Ann Washington, and Aaron Lee Washington; one great grandchild, Devon Peters.
She is survived by a sister, Mary Thorpe (Conway); a son, Gerald Peters (Charlotte); daughters, Kathy Ann Washington (Rick), Julie Marie Davis, Teresa Jean Peters (John Beisner), and Anita Louise Peters (Ricky Woody); eleven grandchildren, Bobby Baker, Heather Riddle, Joey Peters, Christopher Davis, Glenn Dustin Peters, Dakota Peters, Stephen Washington, Paul Washington, Melia Sanders, Joy Washington and Ethan Washington; and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Hayesville on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 4pm with Deacon Darlene Collom and Reverend Rick Washington officiating. The family will serve as pallbearers. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2pm - 4pm prior to the funeral service.
