Sarai Ruth Barnett, 73, of Marble passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023.
She was the daughter of the late Glenn and Opalee Buchanan Ledford. Sarai enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and gardening. She loved spending time with her family. Sarai had worked as a farmer in the livestock industry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kendall Barnett; one brother, Matthew Ledford; and one sister, Helen Franklin.
She is survived by her daughters, Hope Garett and husband Harold of Hayesville, NC, April Roberson and husband Jeff of Marble, NC and Vandia Sneed and husband Nathan of Murphy, NC; one stepdaughter, Inas Couy and husband Scott of Cartersville, Georgia; one stepson, Stanley Barnett and wife Michelle of Marble, NC; and eight grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2 pm at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Rev. Randy Johnson and Rev. Jim Pressley officiating. Burial will be in the Canyon Road Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Ledford, Jason O'Dell, Brian Rose, Ranse Roger, Eric West and Chris Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Lee and Chad Woody.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm - 2 pm, Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home in Murphy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
