Obituary for Mildred Parthenia Taylor

Mildred Parthenia Taylor, age 93 of Murphy, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024.

Mildred was born in Polk County, Tennessee to Alvin Dillard and Myrtle Georgia Mashburn Taylor. She worked as a roaster operator for Tennessee Chemical Company. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making a garden and canning. Mildred also enjoyed making flower arrangements and she loved her family. She was a member of Riverhill Baptist Church in Murphy.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Dillan, Goldman, Kenneth and Al Taylor; her sister, Lea Hawkins; her nephews, Danny Lee Roescher, Jay Roescher and Dexter Payne; and special great nephew, DJ Payne.

Mildred is survived by her brother, Danny Taylor of Norcross, Georgia; her sisters, Bonnie Roescher of Murphy, Mary Herman (Frank) of Scotsdale, AZ and Joy Payne (JR) of Murphy; her nephews, Doyle Payne, Shannon Roescher, Stephen Herman, Frankie Herman, Daniel Taylor and Darrin Taylor; her niece, Dannette Taylor; her great nephews, Austin Roescher, Evan Payne, Tyler Taylor, Cole Herman and Andrew Herman; her great nieces, Brittney Roescher and Ashley Roescher; her great great nephews, Danner Payne and Waylon Harper; her great great niece, Merritt Taylor; and a special daughter in law, Tara Payne, for always being there.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Rev. Steve Ware and Rev. Johnathan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Zion Hill Cemetery in Turtletown, Tennessee. Pallbearers will be Doyle Payne, Shannon Roescher, Evan Payne, Tyler Taylor and Tommy Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Roescher, Bryson Hamby, James Leonard, Danner Payne, Phillip Ledford and Casey Young.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy prior to the funeral service.
