Edna Johnson, age 81 of Murphy, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024.
Edna was born in Murphy to the late John Beaver and Vesta Whitener Beaver. She had worked as an upholsterer. Edna enjoyed birds, especially hummingbirds. She was an avid animal lover. She also enjoyed visiting with family and fishing. Edna adored her furbaby, Omelett.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, David Johnson; a daughter, Cynthia Mlodzik; her brothers, Dewell, Charles and Leonard Beaver; and her sisters, Lois Garland and Pearl Roberts.
She is survived by her son, Michael Johnson; her daughter, Karen Johnson (Paul Roche); her sister, Martha McHan (Charles); her grandchildren, Steve, Clyde and Robert; many great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11am on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Murphy officiating.
