Barbara Taylor Trantham, 82, of Marble passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024. She was born in Cherokee County to the late James Homer and Lilly Mae Gibby Taylor. She was owner/operator of Western Gas and Grocery. Barbara loved writing poetry, and enjoyed her friends and community. She was an active member of Marble Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nebo Trantham; a son, Kenny Trantham; a brother, James Taylor; and a sister, Mary Lee Hughes and her husband (Paul).
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Rhonda Trantham; a brother, David Taylor (Dora); a sister, Betty Breedlove; grandchildren, Hunter Trantham, Harley Trantham, and Heather Trantham; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Marble Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Roehm officiating. Burial will be in the Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Hughes, Lee Hughes, BJ Hughes, Jason Palmer, and Danny Rich.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm Saturday, August 31 prior to the services.
