Jo Ann Rogers Burrell, 80, of Murphy passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024. She was born in Cherokee County to the late Paul and Novelie Owenby Rogers. Jo Ann was a housewife who loved church and singing Gospel Music. She loved spending time with her grandson and son. Jo Ann loved riding in cars.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley Ray Rogers, Doyle Rogers, Dale Rogers, and James Billy Rogers; and a sister, Mary Maxine Brown.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 55 years, Johnny Burrell; a son, Johnny Burrell and wife Jody; a brother Clifford Rogers; sisters, Francine Hughes, Sandra Dell, Dolly Savugot, and Vickie Owl; and a grandson, Kason Burrell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel, Murphy with Rev Darren Shuler officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, GA. Pallbearers will be Michael Savugot, Jason Savugot, Steve Ledford, Kenny Burrell, and Scott Cole. Ronnie Burrell will serve as honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 4, 2024 prior to the services at the funeral home.
