Obituary for Raymond Everett Mashburn

Raymond Everett Mashburn, age 78 of Jasper, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

Raymond was born in Murphy to the late James Logan Mashburn and Lois Gertrude Green Mashburn. He worked for Pickens County Road Department. Raymond enjoyed church, playing musical instruments and singing gospel music. He also loved fishing and playing ball. Raymond had a charismatic personality. He would always sit around telling jokes and stories and people just gravitated to him. Raymond was a member of Bible Way House of Worship in Talking Rock, Georgia.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Mashburn; and his sisters, Elleen Stiles, Eulamae Roberson, Willie Allen and Anna Jean Garland.

He is survived by his wife, Omie Tanner Mashburn; his daughters, Ruby Klys and Beverly Kilpatrick (Rex); his brothers, Richard, Tom, Glenn, Calvin and Steve Mashburn; his sisters, Bonnie Gilliam, Roberta Hughes and Mary Panther; his grandchildren, Christy, Nicole and Hannah; his great grandchildren, Alycia, Halie and Taylor; his great great grandchild, Olivia; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Amanda, Charity Rose and Mercy Faith.

In addition to the family's visitation the night before, there will be a visitation from 10am - 12pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The family will be going in procession from the funeral home to the church at 12:15pm for the funeral service at 2pm on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at River Valley Baptist Church in Murphy with Rev. Rex Kilpatrick and Rev. Grady Chaisson officiating. Burial will be in River Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marvin Roberson, Tim Allen, Keith Mashburn, James Davis, Ronnie Mashburn and Phillip Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Panther, Marvin Guinn, Harold Hightower, Jackie Brannon, Roy Smith, Harold Foust, Randy Richards and Farron Richards.

The family will receive friends from 2pm to 9pm on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy.
