Mary Elizabeth Austin Oliver, age 80 of Murphy, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
Mary was born in Murphy to the late Annie Mae Austin. She worked as a cook at Pizza Hut for over 30 years. Mary loved working in her church.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Oliver; her son; Aaron John Oliver; and her brothers, James, John and Wade Austin.
She is survived by a son, Samuel Oliver; her daughters, Marie Oliver and Virginia Oliver; her sister, Sara Austin; a granddaughter, Deanna Oliver; and her great grandchildren, Keivon Allen, Keishon Oliver and Breanna Oliver.
A funeral service will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy with Rev. John P. Webb, Pastor Jimmy Tanner, Rev. Eurial Turner, and Rev. Harold Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in Notley Cemetery in Murphy. Pallbearers will be Kevin Nicely, John Allen, Darrell Sudderth, Jack Jackson, Terrence (T) Walton, and Paul (Peanut) Smith.
The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy prior to the funeral service.
