James (Jim) Mack Foust, age 91 of Murphy, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at home surrounded by family.
James was born in Coal Creek, TN to Albert and Florence Heatherly Foust. He was an engineer for WKRK radio for over 30 years and a dispatcher for Murphy Police Department for 3 years. James was an amateur (HAM) radio operator, K4AIH. He was member of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church where he was active as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, RA leader and worked in the sound booth. James was a founding member of the Peachtree Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Army and Airforce reserve veteran.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Carl and his sisters, Avia Mae and Leomia.
James is survived by his wife of 70 years, Rozena Bryant Foust; a daughter, Janet Foust Rose (Michael) of Aiken, SC; a son, Michael Foust of Clarkesville, GA and a son, Eddie Foust (Geri) of Lawrenceville, GA; his grandchildren, Rebecca Michele Hickman and Christopher Rose (Mollie) both of Aiken, SC and Jared Foust of Stone Mountain, GA; his great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Hunter and Olivia Hickman, Ellie Kate and Samuel Rose all of Aiken, SC; his brother, Herbert Foust of Hammond, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, November 1, 2024 at Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Noah Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Peachtree. Pallbearers will be Don Rivenbark, Rylan Rivenbark, Britt Rivenbark, Bobby Barton, Matt Rogers and Jimmy Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 1pm to 2pm on Friday, November 1, 2024 prior to the service.
